I have been looking over the latest rumors for the new nidz and they can of remind me of how skaven used to play. If they break then they run forward to assault or drop back into cover to shoot. What I am wondering is can you join another stronger nid to the unit. Gaunts are suposedly 3 points each so you can take 60 in three pods for 180+ points. That's kind of crazy.

I agree that fielding 60 gaunts for 180 points is insane. I have enjoyed playing my elite Bug army, however, I am not sure I will enjoy playing an army number 100 models! We shall have to see.
60 gaunts as a screen would be crazy. Especially if they are really going to be so cheap to field. It also looks like there will be ways to boost their melée powers which could definitely help with popping rear armor in close combat.
While there are some good rumors out now it's still hard to envision how best to go about creating a new list. It's looking like you can take quite a few models in units that are very hard, like the Alpha Warrior, Broodlord upgrade for stealers, etc.

I agree.
However, unlike other armies that got new Codexes like SM and IG, Tyranids appear to have been completely worked over. While I am looking forward to the codex and once again fielding my Tyranid Swarm, I realize that I will completely have to rework the list and from all rumors the models themselves.
As such, I am personally going to shelf my Bugs for the next 4-6 months, while I really concentrate on my Imperial Guard army. Once I have it painted sufficiently, I will then get down to re-assembling my Hive.
It's always nice to be able to start with a clean slate. I am looking forward to building a Tyranid army when the new codex is released. From the German rumors they sound pretty hot to me. I can easily see running six troops in this army. I really like the Ymrgil stealers.
